View All Photos Amanjena
Amanjena, meaning 'peaceful paradise,' is an Aman resort set among ancient olive groves on the outskirts of Marrakech. Inspired by the ruins of the 12th-century El Badi Palace, this serene retreat features rose-hued pavilions surrounding a central reflecting pool, with access to the Royal Golf Marrakech and Amelkis Golf Club.
- Moorish rose-pink pavilions and bassin pools designed to mirror the Menara Gardens aesthetic — architecture that earns its own visit
- Two championship layouts on property: Cabell Robinson's 27-hole Amelkis and the historic Royal Golf Marrakech
- Private olive-grove dining and caidal tent experiences unique to Amanjena's grounds
- Agafay Desert and Atlas Mountains excursions operated at Aman's pace — sunset rides, Berber camp dinners, hot-air ballooning at dawn
- Sidecar medina tours that cut through the souks with a local guide before the crowds arrive
The Courses
- Amelkis Golf Club — 27 holes, par 72, designed by Cabell B. Robinson
- Royal Golf Marrakech — 18 holes, par 72
Amelkis Golf Club · 6th (Par 5)
A demanding double-dogleg par-5 on the Red circuit: the fairway dips right then turns sharply left alongside a 200-yard bunker that buffers the line between play and a large lake guarding the green — one of Cabell Robinson's most strategically layered holes in North Africa.

Shoulder seasons avoid Marrakech's intense summer heat while offering clear skies and the olive and palm gardens at their most fragrant.
Ask the concierge to arrange a private dinner in the Olive Grove — the resort sets a table among century-old twisted trunks lit by lanterns, with a wood-fired oven and traditional music. The setting is entirely different from the pavilion dining and feels wholly Moroccan.
Features &
Amenities
Amanjena occupies 12 rose-hued rammed-earth pavilions and maisons arranged around a central Moorish bassin on the southeastern edge of Marrakech, drawing its architectural grammar from the Alhambra and the city's 12th-century Menara Gardens. Ed Tuttle's design uses tadlekt-plastered walls, mosaic tilework, and palm-shaded courtyards to produce one of the quietest addresses on the African continent.

Atlas Mountains Golf Access
The resort arranges rounds at three partner courses: Amelkis Golf Club (27 holes across three nine-hole loops through palm-lined lakes), the Royal Golf Club Marrakech (founded 1933, 18-hole Old Course at par 72 set within century-old botanical gardens), and Assoufid Golf Club (one round included per golf-break stay), each framing the High Atlas on the horizon.

Moroccan Hammam Rituals
Two heated marble-clad hammams open through glass onto private fountained courtyards, each session beginning with smoke purification using palo santo and black amber. The prescribed sequence moves from black eucalyptus sabon beldi soap through kiis-mitt exfoliation to a full-body rhassoul clay mask sourced from the Atlas Mountains, followed by a cold eucalyptus rinse.

Private Dining Under Canvas
Beyond The Moroccan Restaurant's 80 onyx-pillared dining room and the resident Italian concept Arva, the property stages two private outdoor experiences: the Caidal Tent in the olive groves with live musicians and traditional performers, and Agafay Desert Dining, where guests cross the Agafay desert by camel at sunset to a dedicated Amanjena tent for a Berber feast under open sky.
