Finca Cortesin is widely regarded as one of Europe's finest luxury golf resorts, set among 532 acres of Mediterranean landscape between Marbella and Sotogrande. The Cabell Robinson-designed championship course has hosted the Volvo World Match Play Championship, and the resort's palatial spa and refined dining make it a destination unto itself.
- Cabell Robinson's course hosted the 2023 Solheim Cup and the Volvo World Match Play Championship, two of the sport's most prestigious international events
- The layout routes through native oak groves and barranca-cut ravines, with coastal views toward the Strait of Gibraltar on the back nine
- A 2,200-square-meter spa is among the largest at any golf resort in southern Europe
- The Beach Club on the Costa del Sol operates with the access controls of a private members' facility
- Situated in the hills above Casares, 20 minutes from Marbella but meaningfully removed from it
The Course
- Finca Cortesin Golf Club — 18 holes, par 72, designed by Cabell Robinson
Finca Cortesin Golf Club · 14th (Par 4)
A short, heavily strategic par-4 of approximately 275 meters where the tee shot must navigate off a ridge and the approach carries over a barranca into a green guarded by tall oaks and eleven bunkers. Host to the Solheim Cup 2023 and Volvo World Match Play, this hole distills Cabell Robinson's design philosophy: placement over power.
Restaurants & Bars

On Property
March - June, September - November
Costa del Sol's shoulder seasons deliver ideal playing temperatures without the August heat or the crowds that follow Marbella's peak social calendar.
The Beach Club at Finca Cortesin is a 15-minute drive along the coast and operates with the privacy of a members-only club — reserve in advance, not as an afterthought. After golf, the hotel's Kabuki Raw offers an unexpectedly precise Japanese omakase experience in the middle of the Andalusian countryside.

Features &
Amenities
Finca Cortesin occupies a private estate one mile from the Costa del Sol with a single championship course that hosted three editions of the Volvo World Match Play and the 2023 Solheim Cup, a Thai-concept spa spanning 2,200 square metres, and three distinct restaurants anchored by a Spanish kitchen with panoramic Mediterranean views.

Championship Golf Course
Designed by Cabell B. Robinson across the estate's natural terrain, the 18-hole layout is framed by ancient olive groves with views toward the Mediterranean coast. The course held the Volvo World Match Play Championship in 2009, 2011, and 2012 — attracting it away from Wentworth, its 45-year home — and hosted the 2023 Solheim Cup, which produced the first-ever tie in that competition's history when Carlota Ciganda holed a decisive putt on the 17th hole to retain the trophy for Europe. The Nicklaus Golf Academy operates on-site with dedicated coaching technology.

The Thai Spa
The 2,200-square-metre spa is built around traditional Asian health practices, with four of its ten treatment rooms dedicated exclusively to authentic Thai massage. The thermal circuit includes a snow room, hammam, sauna, and experience showers. Treatment products rotate between Biologique Recherche, Seed to Skin Tuscany, and Tata Harper. An adjacent ARANI Yoga and Meditation Center offers Hatha, Yin, Ashtanga, Kundalini, and multiple vinyasa formats in an elevated open-air setting with coastal views.

El Jardin de Lutz
Named for Executive Chef Lutz Bosing, who has spent two decades studying Spanish gastronomy, the main restaurant serves a contemporary interpretation of traditional Spanish cooking on a lantern-lit terrace overlooking olive groves and the sea. Breakfast is offered daily from 7:00 to 11:30 AM; dinner service runs from 7:30 PM. The property also operates REI, an Asian-Mediterranean fusion restaurant with a Repsol Guide Sun designation, and Don Giovanni, led by Sicilian chef Andrea Tumbarello.
