Features &
Amenities
Dromoland Castle is a 16th-century baronial estate on 500 acres in County Clare, eight miles from Shannon Airport, offering a 6,824-yard parkland golf course, The Castle Spa, and the formal Earl of Thomond dining room within the castle itself.

Ron Kirby and JB Carr Parkland Golf
The championship course designed by Ron Kirby and JB Carr plays 6,824 yards for men across terrain that combines gentle hills, ancient deciduous trees, and water hazards drawn from the estate's natural hydrology. Guests have access to on-course coaching and a TrackMan simulator room in the castle's dedicated golf facility, and the Fig Tree Bar at the clubhouse serves as the post-round gathering point.

The Castle Spa and Leisure Centre
The Castle Spa, recognized in the World Luxury Spa Awards (Ireland, 2024) and Ireland's 5 Star Spa Experience Gold Medal (2025), operates six treatment rooms including a twin suite and an Amber and Quartz Crystal Bed, drawing on Dr. Barbara Sturm, Seabody, and OSKIA product lines. The 17-meter pool runs the length of a floor-to-ceiling glazed wall overlooking the golf course, accompanied by sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi.

Estate Field Sports and Falconry
Dromoland's field sports program includes falconry with Ireland's native birds, archery, clay shooting, and fly fishing on the estate's river and lough. These activities are conducted on the grounds under the guidance of resident instructors, making the estate self-sufficient for guests who prefer outdoor pursuits to spa or golf programming.
Signature
Events
Dromoland stages Spring Awakening each year around the spring equinox, a ticketed immersive sound and light experience in the castle's historic Brian Boru Hall.
Spring Awakening
Held in the Brian Boru Hall, this 90-minute experience uses live harp, Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, and transformative light to guide participants through a seasonal reset. Sound artist Fiona Guiheen and harpist Aisling Lyons lead the sessions, which are designed for small groups lying on soft mattresses in the hall. The program is positioned as an alternative to conventional spa programming for guests seeking a restorative arrival or departure ritual.
