About

Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa

Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa is a stunning oceanfront resort on Florida's Atlantic coast, featuring two championship golf courses including the Jack Nicklaus-designed Ocean Course with six holes directly along the Atlantic. The resort's 91,000 sq ft water park and multi-story pool complex make it a favorite for families and golfers alike.

  • The Jack Nicklaus Ocean Course features six holes directly overlooking the Atlantic — the most of any course in Florida — with the final four holes nicknamed 'The Bear Claw' by Nicklaus himself
  • Tom Watson's Conservatory Course is widely cited as the best work of his design career, with exceptional British links-style bunkering and a par-three 8th playing to an island green at 134 yards
  • The resort's multi-level pool complex and dedicated water park make it one of the few luxury golf properties genuinely suited for families without sacrificing serious golf infrastructure
  • Palm Coast's position on the Atlantic intracoastal gives the property a distinct coastal ecology — egrets, ospreys, and marsh wildlife are a constant presence on the Conservatory's wetland holes
  • 36 holes on-property means two full rounds without repetition, and the contrast in design philosophy between Nicklaus and Watson is pronounced enough to appeal to different playing styles

The Courses

  • The Ocean Course — 18 holes, par 72, designed by Jack Nicklaus
  • The Conservatory Course — 18 holes, par 72, designed by Tom Watson
Signature Hole

The Ocean Course · 18th (Par 4)

The closing hole of Nicklaus's 'Bear Claw' four-hole finish — a 465-yard par four that bends left with the Atlantic Ocean running its full left edge and prevailing sea winds in the golfer's face. The elevated green is firmer and faster than it appears from the fairway, and any shot left of the flag is in serious trouble.

Best Time to Visit

October - May

Florida's cooler, drier months bring firm course conditions and manageable humidity, while summer heat and afternoon thunderstorms make the morning tee time window narrow.

LXV Insider

Tee off the Ocean Course in the first slot of the morning before sea breezes build — the six Atlantic-facing holes play an entirely different game by midday. Ask the pro shop about twilight rates on the Conservatory Course, which Watson designed as his personal best work.
