About

Inn at Perry Cabin

Inn at Perry Cabin by Belmond is an elegant waterfront retreat on the shores of the Miles River in historic St Michaels, Maryland. The resort features The Links at Perry Cabin, a Pete Dye-designed championship 18-hole course, along with 8 HD golf simulators, a marina, and the charm of Chesapeake Bay's Eastern Shore.

  • The Links at Perry Cabin is Pete Dye's final completed design, built in collaboration with his wife Alice and son P.B. Dye — a genuine end-of-career capstone from one of golf architecture's most influential figures
  • The 17th hole is the last island green Pete Dye ever built, a par three that echoes TPC Sawgrass's famous 17th but plays longer and more exposed to Chesapeake Bay winds
  • The course is access-restricted to hotel guests and members, keeping pace of play unusually low for a course of this caliber
  • Eight high-definition golf simulators inside the inn allow for year-round play analysis and practice regardless of weather — an unusually deep indoor golf facility for a boutique property
  • The inn's marina on the Miles River provides direct water access for kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing, positioning the property as a Chesapeake water-culture destination as much as a golf retreat

The Course

Signature Hole

Links at Perry Cabin · 17th (Par 3)

Pete Dye's final island green — a deliberate echo of his legendary 17th at TPC Sawgrass but with a larger putting surface and a collar of rough softening the edges. Wind off the Miles River and Chesapeake Bay makes club selection genuinely unpredictable, and the hole carries historical weight as the last island green Dye ever built.

Best Time to Visit

April - June

The Eastern Shore's mild spring brings firm turf, dogwood in bloom along the course perimeter, and the Chesapeake at its most visually striking before summer humidity arrives.

LXV Insider

The Links at Perry Cabin is the last course Pete Dye ever designed — play it in the late afternoon when low Chesapeake light turns the bay golden and the wind off the Miles River becomes the real opponent on the finishing three holes. Book the spa and marina in the same stay; the Chesapeake by kayak at sunrise is a completely separate experience from golf.

Features &
Amenities

Inn at Perry Cabin sits on the Miles River in St. Michaels, Maryland, operating a private nautical fleet for Chesapeake Bay sailing excursions alongside a Pete and Alice Dye golf course and a spa drawing on the estuary's natural landscape.

Private Nautical Fleet and Sailing

The property's fleet includes a 55-foot Hinckley, an Alerion yacht, and a restored 1902 skipjack once sailed by James Michener while researching his novel Chesapeake. Captains lead private and group charters from the Miles River out to the open Chesapeake Bay, ranging from sunset sails to full-day excursions. The fleet operates seasonally and can be chartered exclusively for house parties.

Pete and Alice Dye Golf Course

The Links at Perry Cabin was designed by Pete and Alice Dye and plays across terrain adjacent to the Miles River. The course reflects the Dye hallmarks of strategic bunkering and natural sight lines without the artifice of resort-spec design. Har-Tru tennis courts and professional instruction are available on the same grounds.

Spa and Chesapeake Wellness

The Spa at Perry Cabin is positioned along the riverbank and incorporates the surrounding Chesapeake Bay ecosystem into its programming, including yoga sessions on an outdoor riverside platform. Indoor facilities offer Peloton training alongside more restorative treatments. Private dining at venues including STARS and Purser's Pub complements the wellness offering with locally sourced Eastern Shore cuisine.
