The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort is an ultra-luxury retreat on a private peninsula along Mexico's Pacific coast. - Pacifico Course features eight oceanside holes on a private peninsula, with the Tail of the Whale as the optional 19th — the only natural island green in golf
- Two Jack Nicklaus Signature courses (Pacifico and Bahia) on an exclusive gated peninsula in the Riviera Nayarit
- Humpback whale migration through Banderas Bay visible from the golf course December through March
- St. Regis butler service extends to the golf concierge — tide charts, club transport, and private beach setups coordinated in advance

Pacifico Course · 3B / Tail of the Whale (19th) (Par 3)
The only natural island green in golf — a par-3 played 199 yards across the Pacific Ocean to a green built atop a rock outcropping shaped like a whale's tail. Accessible by amphibious cart at high tide or on foot when the pathway emerges at low tide; Jack Nicklaus has called it his favorite hole.

November - May
Mexico's Pacific dry season delivers warm days, calm seas, and consistently spectacular sunsets; the humpback whale migration through Banderas Bay runs December through March.
The Tail of the Whale 19th hole is only playable at low tide via amphibious cart — ask the starter at Pacifico to check the tide chart when booking and request the earliest low-tide window before afternoon winds pick up across the Pacific.
Features &
Amenities
The St. Regis Punta Mita occupies a 22-acre position at the tip of a 1,500-acre private Pacific peninsula where Banderas Bay -- the largest natural bay in Mexico -- meets the open ocean. Two Jack Nicklaus Signature courses, a 10,000-square-foot Remede Spa, and the sunset champagne-sabering ritual that is standard practice at every St. Regis property give this address a structure that is both place-specific and instantly recognizable to the brand's habitual guests.

Pacifico and Bahia Golf Courses
Resort guests have access to two Jack Nicklaus Signature layouts at the Punta Mita Golf Club: the Pacifico (18 holes, 7,104 yards, par 72) with eight oceanside holes, and the Bahia (18 holes, 7,035 yards, par 72) with five holes running directly along the water. The Pacifico also plays an optional 19th hole -- the Tail of the Whale -- a par-3 with a green shaped like a whale's tail set on a natural island 199 yards offshore, accessible by amphibious golf cart at high tide.

Remede Spa
The 10,000-square-foot Remede Spa has nine private treatment rooms including two couples suites. Signature offerings include Ayurvedic treatments personalized to the guest's Dosha, the Pitaya Sensory Journey (a two-hour treatment using dragon fruit, red marine algae, and pressure-point footwork), and a VR-enhanced Mindful Touch massage that pairs guided breathing with curated nature environments.
Carolina Tasting Menu
Carolina has been the resort's flagship dining room for more than 15 years and emerged from a recent property-wide renovation with a contemporary Mexican menu rooted in the culinary traditions of Bahia de Banderas, offered in five- and seven-course tasting menu formats. The additional outlets include Sakana (Nikkei and Peruvian cold preparations), Sea Breeze (wood-fired international cuisine at the beach club), and the Mita Mary Boat Bar serving catch-of-the-day ceviche and fish tacos.
Signature
Events
Punta Mita stages one of Mexico's most established culinary and golf gatherings each December, drawing chefs and sommeliers to both the peninsula's private courses.
Punta Mita Gourmet and Golf Classic
Now in its 15th year, the American Express Punta Mita Gourmet and Golf Classic runs for four days in late November to early December across the full Punta Mita peninsula, with curated chef dinners, beach tastings, and competitive golf rounds on both the Pacifico and Bahia courses. The event brings together Mexican and international chefs alongside winemakers and spirits producers for a format that treats the two disciplines -- cuisine and golf -- as parallel rather than sequential programming.
