The resort's 9-hole par-3 Links course features stunning Pacific Ocean views from every hole, and its four pools, award-winning spa, and farm-to-table dining create a world-class coastal retreat.
- Nine-hole oceanfront par-3 course perched above the Pacific with Catalina Island views from every tee
- 50,000 sqft spa with an outdoor oceanfront meditation garden and extensive Pacific-facing treatment rooms
- Falconry program on the coastal bluffs — one of the few resort raptory experiences in Southern California
- Paddleboarding, kayaking, guided coastal hikes, and archery set against 102 acres of Palos Verdes headland
- Whale watching from the bluffs in winter months, with the resort's naturalist staff guiding guests
The Course
- The Links at Terranea — 9 holes, par 27
The Links at Terranea · 3rd (Par 3)
Called 'Captain's Bluff,' this 172-yard par-3 plays uphill into the prevailing coastal wind with a Redan-like right-to-left tilt — balls that land high right can feed toward the pin, while the lower left bunkers offer some of the toughest recoveries on the course. Every hole on this Todd Eckenrode-designed nine delivers Pacific panoramas, but the third, the longest on the card, earns its name.

On Property
Year-round
Palos Verdes sits in a stable coastal microclimate; winter months add gray-whale migration visible from the bluffs, while summer fog burns off by mid-morning for clear Catalina sightlines.
Book the falconry experience at sunrise — the bluffs are yours before other guests stir. The 50,000 sqft spa includes an oceanfront meditation garden tucked beyond the treatment wings that most guests never find.

Features &
Amenities
Terranea occupies 102 oceanfront acres on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, where four distinct dining rooms, a spa built around coastal botanicals, and a nine-hole course perched above the Pacific define the property's identity.
The Links at Terranea
A scenic nine-hole oceanfront layout with panoramic views of the Catalina Channel and Point Vicente Lighthouse. The resort pairs the course with a golf academy and membership program, and tee times are bookable through an on-site pro shop. The blufftop routing makes this a more intimate experience than a traditional 18-hole resort track.
The Spa at Terranea
The spa features a Himalayan salt wall in the dry sauna, eucalyptus steam room, cold-water plunge, and a dedicated adults-only spa pool with ocean views and cabana service. Day passes are available for resort guests at $95, and the treatment menu draws on the coastal setting through locally influenced body rituals and skincare. Hours extend to 8 p.m. on weekends.
Mar'sel and Coastal Dining Program
Chef Fabio Ugoletti leads the signature dining room, Mar'sel, with elevated tasting menus built on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The broader campus includes seven additional venues — from the blufftop Nelson's bar to the Asian-focused Bashi — giving guests a genuine range without leaving the property. Catalina Kitchen anchors the resort's all-day coastal cuisine program.
Signature
Events
Two signature summer programs draw both resort guests and the broader South Bay community to Terranea each year.
Summer Sound Series at Nelson's
Live music runs weekly at the blufftop Nelson's venue with genres rotating across reggae, country, classic rock, and pop. Gates open at 6 p.m. and performances run until 10 p.m. against a backdrop of the Pacific and Catalina Island. Public admission is $30; resort guests attend complimentary.
Food and Wine Festival
An afternoon festival held at The Meadows and Palos Verdes Terrace, featuring Terranea's own chefs alongside local and regional producers, breweries, and winemakers. The format is a walk-around tasting from noon to 4 p.m., restricted to guests 21 and older. Chefs from Mar'sel, Bashi, Nelson's, and Catalina Kitchen all participate.
