The Broadmoor is a legendary Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five Diamond resort at the base of Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs. With three championship courses, including the East Course designed by Donald Ross, this historic 1918 property has maintained its distinction as one of America's great resorts for over a century.
- Three distinct 18-hole courses on one property: the Donald Ross-designed East (1918), the Robert Trent Jones Sr. West, and the Mountain Course at elevation above the resort
- The East Course hosted the 2025 U.S. Senior Open, continuing a championship pedigree that includes Jack Nicklaus's first U.S. Amateur title in 1959
- Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five Diamond Penrose Room — the only restaurant in Colorado to hold both designations simultaneously
- Falconry program, zip line, fly fishing on Cheyenne Creek, and hiking trails into the adjacent wilderness give the property a genuine Rocky Mountain sporting identity
- Resort elevation of 6,035 feet adds measurable distance to every iron shot — a feature the pro shop briefs new arrivals on before they walk off the first tee confused by their distances
The Courses
- East Course — 18 holes, par 72, designed by Donald Ross
- West Course — 18 holes, par 72, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr.
- Mountain Course — 18 holes, par 72
East Course · 4th (Par 3)
A slightly downhill par 3 playing 145 to 165 yards — one of Donald Ross's original nine holes from 1918 — where altitude and mountain updrafts conspire to scramble club selection. The green rewards a precise approach to its front third; anything long leaves a nearly impossible chip with the slope dropping away toward Cheyenne Mountain.

Features &
Amenities
Operating continuously since 1918 at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain, The Broadmoor holds Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond ratings longer than any hotel in the country.

Championship Golf at 6,400 Feet
The East Course — Donald Ross's 1918 design reworked by Robert Trent Jones Sr. — hosted its ninth USGA championship with the 2025 U.S. Senior Open. The West Course adds a second Ross-Jones collaboration above the main resort.

The Spa at The Broadmoor
Forbes Five-Star rated, with mountain-inspired treatments and full salon. The rating matches the resort's flagship Penrose Room, making this one of the few American properties with multiple Five-Star designations.

Ten Restaurants and a Golden Bee
The Penrose Room leads a dining roster that runs from Ristorante del Lago's lakeside Italian to the Golden Bee, the resort's century-old English pub with nightly piano singalongs.
Signature
Events
The Broadmoor's calendar runs from USGA championships to high-country sporting traditions.
USGA Championship Golf
The 2025 U.S. Senior Open, won by Padraig Harrington on the East Course, was the resort's ninth USGA championship. The U.S. Senior Open returns in 2031 and 2037 — institutional confidence few venues earn.

Fly-Fishing Camp
The Broadmoor's seasonal fly-fishing camp on the Tarryall River pairs guided water with a restored 1900s homestead, part of the resort's Wilderness Experience portfolio.
