The Ranch at Laguna Beach
Laguna Beach, CA, United StatesA coastal canyon retreat in the heart of Laguna Beach
The Ranch at Laguna Beach
The Ranch at Laguna Beach is an 87-acre canyon resort nestled in Aliso and Wood Canyons, blending Southern California's coastal charm with rustic luxury. The GEO Certified 9-hole par-32 course sits in the canyon floor with elevation changes on every fairway, and the resort sits directly across from Aliso Beach.
- GEO-certified nine-hole layout carved into Aliso and Wood Canyons at 2,221 yards of par-32 golf — one of the few certified sustainable courses in Southern California
- Aliso Creek winds through the canyon and crosses in front of the 6th green before eventually reaching the Pacific, giving the course a natural drama that compensates for its compact length
- Direct access to Aliso Beach a short walk from the property provides a coastal counterpoint to the inland canyon setting within the same resort stay
- Boutique resort scale — approximately 97 rooms tucked into the canyon — ensures a quietness that the Pacific Coast Highway traffic a half-mile away makes feel genuinely remote
- The Ranch's setting in a working canyon means wildlife encounters — coyotes, red-tailed hawks, deer — are routine, particularly at dawn and dusk tee times
The Course
- Ben Brown's Golf Course — 9 holes, par 32
Ben Brown's Golf Course · 6th (Par 3)
A 140-yard par 3 that plays across Aliso Creek, which cuts directly in front of the green at the base of Aliso and Wood Canyons. Tall creek-bed reeds and an unusually long flagstick manipulate depth perception, and the creek — which ultimately spills into the Pacific Ocean — provides genuine penal consequence for any short shot.

March - May
Southern California's spring brings reliably mild temperatures into the canyon, wildflowers on the surrounding hillsides, and clear air before summer marine layer sets in along the coast.
Ask the pro shop to assign you hole 6 last in your loop — the par-3 plays 140 yards over Aliso Creek, which cuts in front of the green, and the combination of tall creek-side reeds and an extra-long flagstick can genuinely distort depth perception even for experienced players. Stay for lunch at The Harvest afterward; the canyon view from the patio is the best seat in Laguna.
